American White Oak

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA and Canada

SAPWOOD COLOR: The color of the sapphire is off-white to light brown.

HEARTWOOD COLOR: It has been reported that the color varies from light brown or pale yellow to light brown or dark brown. Wood can also have a pink hue. Changes in color and water are reported to be significant but are not as intense as in the red oak.

USES: Furniture, Flooring, Decorative Carpentry, Doors, Frames, Railroad Decks, Veneers, Decorative Carpentry, Kitchen Cabinets.

CHARACTERISTICS: The mature tree tends to be large, with a height of 60 to 80 feet (18 to 24 meters) and a diameter of 12 to 18 inches (30 to 50 cm). For red oak have been recorded heights up to 150 feet (45 m).
